Soothing and toning
Rose absolute is used for its soothing, rejuvenating and toning properties on skin. Its evocative, delicate fragrance lifts the mood and is thought to be closest to the smell of a fresh rose.
There's more than 16,000 varieties of rose in the world today, but the damascus rose is one of the most ancient, widely grown variety. Thought to be native to the middle-east, rose water and rose oil were used for centuries to fragrance and heal scars in Persia (modern-day Iran), Asia and Mediteranean.
This rose absolute comes from Senir, Turkey, as well as rose oil. Producers have worked since 2005 to produce their high quality ingredient and today they have over 3000 farmers. The olive-green coloured absolute is obtained via solvent extraction, getting the very best from the delicate petals.
The scent of rose is used by aromatherapists to restore inner balance and is considered by some to be an aphrodisiac.
