Soothes the skin
Rose wax is used for its soothing action on dry and sensitive skin. It can also help to calm irritated skin and reduce redness. It is derived from the concrete obtained in the process of making rose absolute. This concrete contains the aromatic chemicals and the waxy element of the rose.
Description
The solid concrete is the washed with alcohol to remove the absolute, and the remaining solid is rose wax. This wax is a natural ingredient that acts as a rich base for our balms, scalp treatments and much of our Emotional Brilliance makeup range.
Rose absolute comes from the flower petals of the Damask rose (Rosa damascena, from the plant family Rosaceae). Damask roses are grown across Bulgaria, Turkey, Russia, India and China. Other rose species can be used to produce rose oil, wax and absolute, and it's thought to be the first floral essential oil that was distilled.
We buy our rose wax from Senir in Turkey, and also use the rose oil and absolute from the same plant in our products. We are one of the main buyers of rose absolute in the world.
