Mild Surfactant and Foam Stabiliser
Sodium cocoamphoacetate is a mild surfactant, foam stabilizer, that also conditions the hair. It is an organic compound derived from the fatty acids of vegetable oil, helping to remove oil based dirt and debris from the skin and hair.
Sodium cocoamphoacetate is useful in cleansers, shower gels, scrubs and shaving creams because of its mildness and ability to add slip to the formula, making the product glide smoothly on skin. Foam stabilisers increase the surface tension of the liquid that surrounds individual bubbles, resulting in foam that doesn't just disappear! It improves the quality and stability of the lather needed to bind water and oil together, to then be rinsed away. As a result, it also supports the action of the primary surfactant, which helps the removal of oil based dirt and debris. However, it is milder than sodium lauryl sulphate, so a great alternative to those who want to avoid SLS.
When used in shampoo sodium cocoamphoacetate gives a thick, rich foam and cleanses the hair leaving it feeling very clean. This thorough action dissolves dirt and grease effectively. Hair is left full of shine and in great condition.
