Upcycling: Sea Glass - SOHO
Hong Kong Dolphin Conservation Society successfully held several beach cleaning events last year and collected a substantial amount of sea glass. The sea glass originates from pieces of glass from broken bottles. Once entering the ocean, they are persistently tumbled by wave forces and sea stones, which polishes them until the sharp edges are smoothened, becoming the hidden gems that are commonly seen as useless sea debris on beaches.
In this workshop, you will use sea glasses to design your own upcycled jewelry. You will also learn about marine garbage and the impact of marine pollution on cetacean throughout the workshop.
Workshop registration fee covers the cost of materials needed (including sea glasses, paints and other tools). Participants can take the upcycled jewelry home with them after the workshop.
